Ongoing Learning &
Capstone Project

Once the sale of the Tivoli Housing Co-op was complete in 2014, the Common Fire Foundation shifted its focus dramatically, limiting itself to providing basic support for the Beacon Co-Housing community.  The Foundation previously had a much more expansive vision of helping to support the creation of numerous intentional communities nationwide that shared our values related to communities as a foundation for personal and collective transformation.  The information on this page represents our PREVIOUS more expansive vision and is provided here in the hopes that it may help to support or inspire other people’s efforts in this field.

Dinner and a...

Sprinkled throughout the year will be regular, optional gatherings organized by the Common Fire Foundation and program participants to hear leactures, see movies, have conversations, etc.. They will relate to the many training topics listed before, and will emphasize those topics that the group has not gotten to or elected in some time.

Capstone Project

The final aspect of the program is that participants choose a project that utilizes the skills and knowledge they have gained and that has a direct impact on the larger community or region. Participants can expect to spend 20+ hours on the project, and for there to be a presentation and implementation aspect.
